As part of its strategy to stay at the forefront of cargo handling, Sussex Port Forwarding (the Port's wholly-owned stevedoring company) operate their unique stock control system which utilises bar code and radio frequency technology to allow customers to monitor stock records via the internet.

This technology allows receivers to view up-to-date information and facilitates total inventory visibility for "Just-in-time" deliveries, but only at Shoreham.

Significant external benefits are already being gained from the system, with the port's customers having improved access to identification of stock on discharge, facilitating a faster turnaround on lorry movements.
